People often do things out of fear of being alone. Everybody wants somebody which are words in many songs, but it is true. Most people prefer to be with others than by themselves. It is not easy being alone but many people adjust to it. They fill their time with work and activities. They compensate for the loneliness. Yet, there are both men and women who cannot cope with being alone. Some adults continue to live with their parents just so they aren’t by themselves. Years ago if an adult child didn’t move out of their parents’ home and live on their own they were considered babies, dependent upon their parents, losers and failers. The truth was that they just wanted to familial company. At the end of any work day it is nice to come home to someone rather than an empty apartment or house. Although there are people who adjust to it. I have known individuals, primarily women, who have lived with another person until someone better came along. There are many individuals who find it easier to be the paramour of another and take advantage of their success. They live in luxury homes, drive expensive vehicles and have stunning wardrobes. Years ago older women who were alone and wealthy doted on younger men to feed their ego. During these periods the younger men did quite well. They established themselves and along the way collected handsome somes of money. One of the things that has replaced another person is pets. A pet can easily diminish the fear of being alone. It doesn’t take much because the person could come home every day to a fur friend that was always happy to see them and needed them.
