In the states, today is Veteran’s Day. It is a time to remember all the fine men and women who fought to protect all of the countries around the globe. Often these fine people end up losing a body part, their lives, and even their sanity are under appreciated. Wherever you go to any country you will see these wonderful individuals hard at work. They all do their best. I know mostly about the states. They have special hospitals and medical benefits for the brave men and women. However, there are individuals who take advantage of the system. I have a stepgrandson who fought overseas. He was in battle, drove a tank and was shot at. His hands have never been the same. He has four children yet he doesn’t receive the monthly compensation he deserves. He does work but it has to be a job that does not require certain uses of his hands and specifically his thumbs. I know a different man who was also in the military. He joined so that the government would pay for his college education. He was never in battle and injured himself doing pull-ups because he gained so much weight. He collects the maximum claiming he is one hundred percent disabled. He is not but he is a cheater of the system. Every time he abused the system with obtaining a college education for money and he could not longer receive funds, he would move so he could start all over again. He has attended college for over thirty years and still doesn’t have a degree. So when you see a military man or women, thank them for their service and appreciate them. As we are close to the middle of November, it is time to research good gifts for the individuals on your list. A Good Gus book is an excellent choice for a child or a donation of a book for a sick boy or girl who are in the hospital. Also consider adults in various facilities for “Misplaced Trust.” Good reading certainly passes the time. The Good Gus Series is available online at Kindle, Nook and Waterstones. Hard copies, personally autographed, are available through our website www.goodgusbooks.com along with past blogs for your reading enjoyment. Now available audio and videos for the Good Gus series on YouTube! Digitizing for all the books are available now on YouTube! “Misplaced Trust” is now available on Amazon in e-book form. It is also available digitally at www.misplacedtrustbook.com. If you are thinking of a Will or a Living Trust, “Misplaced Trust” will give you the information you need to make an informed decision.
