The reporting of what people wear, especially the rich and famous or celebrities has certainly changed fashions in recent years. Lately, if anyone attends a political function, everything is about whatever the women are wearing. The articles go into detail as to what the women wore, why they wore it and their opinion of the outfits.  There are important events happening in the world today, yet the biggest topics are fashions.  It includes the hat, blouse, skirt and shoes Ivanka Trump wore along with the prices of each piece of clothing today.   Then there is Michelle Obama in Italy and her blouse that cost four hundred dollars.  Why are the  fashions so significant?  Shouldn’t the reporters be discussing the events, rather than the fashions of the women attending the meetings?  If that isn’t enough fashion news, any of the awards ceremonies recently have pages of the clothes the celebrities wore on the internet.  Many of the outfits appeared  to be outrageous.  It almost looks like  to the reader that the women are trying to outdo each other and have the most recognition.  Of course, the designers are the winners because if their apparel is well received, they can sell the designs to knock off manufacturers and make a fortune.  Some of the outfits are so outrageous that the average person wouldn’t wear them to clean their homes.  Many of the famous women or wives of dignitaries, dress with style and class.  Their appearances are appealing because they wear clothes that fit without being too tight, too gaudy, too outrageous and in good taste.  George Clooney’s wife is a good example.  Her fashion sense is impeccable and even with expecting twins, she looks stylish and her outfits present an upscale classy image.  The ridiculous fashion of wearing hats backwards, pants hanging down near their knees, and shorts that look like a women’s Capri on men for example are just a few of the poor taste of individuals thinking they are in style.  The fashions of the old west did not include designer clothing.  It was simple homemade or ready to wear clothing that were applicable to the times.  The Good Gus series is available exclusively on Kindle worldwide.  If you are bored reading about the fashions in the news today, take a chance and read “Misplaced Trust” which is available on 24 Symbols, Apple, Nook, Kindle, Kobo, Page Foundry, Scribd and Tolino.
