Lackadaisical Attitude

Have you noticed that many people in all walks of life have a lackadaisical attitude about almost everything?  It is beyond procrastination. Just today, Hawaiian residents were complaining that many were not notified about the fire.  My thought was why weren’t they?  There should have been alarms, sirens, along with government employees with megaphones driving around to let everyone know.  One person is blaming Oprah Winfrey although it really doesn’t make sense.  I saw an article recently that since COVID many parents are not always bringing their children to school.  I even know of instances where it is clear that a parent is forging doctor’s notes but no one seems to care.  Our children need to learn.  A woman I was speaking to today told me that she and her husband refuse to allow her daughter, who is eight, any electronics until she reads a chapter in a book.  Very wise parents.  The lackadaisical attitude of little homework, no enforcement of learning and reading is making the children of today fall behind.  We all learn everyday but we need books and knowledge to help us progress and succeed.  The new laws regarding stealing specifically in California shows a complete disregard for businesses, jobs, people and even tax dollars.  We all need to survive but taking away jobs and allowing people to rob is not only wrong but unfair to everyone else.  This attitude of not wanting to prosecute for thefts should be addressed.  It is this type of lackadaisical attitude that stops growth, increases inflation, and hurts the everyday working person.  It is clear that when we shop at the grocery that the prices continue to rise, while self checking increases  which is lowering their costs.  Corporate decisions of this nature gives the companies freedom from payroll taxes, unemployment taxes, medical healthcare, benefits and more.  It is a lackadaisical attitude as it reduces all responsibility.  I believe in profit just not at the expense of others, don’t you agree? The Good Gus Series is available online at Kindle, Nook and Waterstones.
