Nothing is worse than a toxic relationship. Unfortunately, many individuals fail to recognize it often until it is too late. Even if family and friends warn them, they frequently refuse to accept it. It doesn’t matter either whether it is a man or a woman. They believe the person will change, they will stop abusing them, they quit cheating or worse they run through all their assets and end up leaving them broke. Even then, most of the individuals can’t accept the reality of their situation. A toxic relationship or person will leave you feeling exhausted and make you question yourself and your values. When you lose faith in yourself you begin to lose the ability to see things clearly and think straight as well. Many people don’t realize that they have to protect themselves. The negativity from a toxic relationship can destroy your self confidence. Even being exposed to a person, at work for example, that is always angry, complains, has a nasty temper, can ruin your day and how you feel about yourself. If you are in that type of situation, have you noticed that you feel more tired than usual at the end of the work day? Do you find yourself avoiding people as you don’t feel like your upbeat positive self? Look for the signs. There are a few more. Are you suddenly apologizing all the time? Have you suddenly felt the need to gain approval from everyone including strangers or co-workers? One of the things I have noticed about individuals who are in a toxic relationship is that the other person rarely says anything positive and tends to gossip. I think they feel better about themselves putting anyone else down. The best thing you can do for yourself if you see any of this in your life is to stop, reassess your feelings and relationship and move on or end it. In the Good Gus series, no one really had a toxic relationship. The series was written to show positivity, self worth, along with doing the right thing. The series is always available on Kindle which is easy to find and read to your young child. If you are having difficulty with a toxic relationship, hopefully you will make the move necessary to bring happiness back into your life.
