There are so many times in life we are waiting.  We are stuck on hold for extended periods.  People do not answer and their robots cannot understand what anyone needs so you end up waiting and often just giving up. This is true in the workplace.  People put forth a great deal of effort to be successful.  They hope they will be promoted or receive a raise.  Sadly, they end up waiting and often, again, give up and seek new employment.  The promotion game in the workplace revolves around politics for the most part.  Whomever is a phony player that acts the part for the boss is usually the person who moves up the corporate chain.  This is also true at the lower levels.  For example, in a factory, most of the individuals do a good job.  They want to be promoted to a supervisor or even a manager.  However, they may not look the part, appear unattractive, or even have a poor vocabulary.  They do an excellent job but do not do favors for upper management.  So they also end up waiting while seeking new employment.  Many of the videos on Facebook, and this is also true in real life, show both men and women dressing attractively  and seeking out the upper management to gain a promotion.  They utilize their personal skills in an intimate way to succeed.  The old time stories of Hollywood constantly portrayed the methods primarily women used to obtain top parts in movies and TV shows.  They made it their goal to succeed whatever way possible without going through the usual channels and waiting to be noticed.  In the Good Gus series often the children prefered not waiting which is why there are many adventures. The Good Gus Series is available online at Kindle, Nook and Waterstones. Hard copies, personally autographed, are available through our website along with past blogs for your reading enjoyment.
