No matter where you go or what you do, you see articles on the internet, social media, facebook, tic tok, twitter and more about being kind yet not one article states you should be kind to yourself. Truthfully, we do not think about it. We are generally trying to be a good person and treat others well. However, we need to stop and think about being kind to us. Mothers never even consider this. We are always so busy taking care of our families and helping others that it doesn’t even occur to us. If a friend invites us out for a day at the spa, we think twice. We always have so many commitments that we have to prioritize in order to take time for ourselves. It’s not that difficult but we tend to make sure everything is in order before taking a day for us. For the average person, when was the last time you took a day for yourself? You probably don’t even remember, do you? Many spas were started by women just to give us all a break. Of course, on the TV shows you continually see women going to spas on an almost daily basis. We all do not have that luxury. Possibly, the next time your day is rapidly going downhill, adjust your priorities and do something for yourself for a few hours. Your mind and body will appreciate it.
