As the holidays approach, weight loss is on many individual’s minds. Everyone wants to look fabulous. There are so many products that make promises that are impossible to keep. For example, if you take probiotics your weight will magically drop and a large amount on a daily basis. If that was true everyone would be thin. It is big money as celebrities promote various types of weight loss programs. The continual gimmicks are exhausting. Eating properly and exercising are far more important. High fat foods and fast foods should be off everyone’s list. I have never passed a Chick–fil-a without a huge line. During the shutdowns of COVID, their lines would literally follow to the car parks next to them. I am happy to say I have never eaten their food. There are so many programs that offer daily food at a premium price to help you keep your weight down. Since it is so easy to cook at home, why buy prepared foods? Not only that, you can buy as much organic as is available or affordable and eat healthily. It still amazes me to see people with large trolleys literally full of all types of sodas, premade dinners, chips, and so many more types of foods that are unhealthy. First of all, there have been many studies proving that sodas and particularly diet are extremely determent to your health. Many of the scientific studies are now claiming that diet sodas are a cause of early dementia. This may sound crazy, but wherever I go I keep my decaf tea with me. I recently visited family and we had our Christmas dinner at Milton’s. The food was well prepared and it had decaf tea. When I have travelled I have found that decaf tea is rare which is why I carry my own. If it is necessary to eat at a restaurant, trying to pay attention to weight loss is not always easy, don’t you agree? The Good Gus Series is available online at Kindle, Nook and Waterstones.
