Is there anyone in your life that you feel is just too greedy? Facebook has videos continuously about men primarily who are just too greedy. They also have videos about women who always live to regret it. One of my favorite videos is about a woman who appears to be recovering from cancer. One night her husband came home and announced that he wanted a divorce. She was shocked. When she asked why it was the usual reason he had met someone else. He demanded the divoce immediately and already had the papers drawn up ready for her to sign. He threatened her if she refused to sign so she did. Then he told her to pack her bags and leave. She simply had no options. When she went to a hotel and tried to pay with a credit card it was declined. She called him and he informed her he had cancelled all cards. She ended up going to a lower end motel who agred to let her stay two nights for cash for one hundred dollars or a little over one hundred eight Euros. She settled in and the next day went to a conveniece store to buy a sandwhich. The sales clerk was an older woman and began talking to her. Before long our newly divorcee told her all of her troubles. She bought a sandwhich and then the sales clerk gave her a lottery ticket for free. Of course, this is a story and later than evening while eating her sandwhich she won five hundred million dollars or five hundred forty million Euros. The video skiped to six months later when she is in court with her ex husband. Frankly, this is my favorite part. She and the ex were in front of a judge. The ex was suing her for fifty percent of her lottery winnings. The judge asked him a few questions. First she said that the divorce decree was signed one day before the former wife bought the ticket. Second, she said to him, “Didn’t you force her out of your home as soon as she signed the papers?” He said yes but with a ‘but.’ She then said, “Didn’t you cancel all of her credit cards and remove all funds from your joint account even though she had contributed to them?” Again a yes with a ‘but.’ Finally, she said, “Since you forced her to sign the divorce decree before she bought the ticket, you are entitled to nothing.” The woman did one last thing. She went back to the convenience store and gave the sales clerk a check for fifty million dollars or fifty-four million Euros. I loved that story didn’t you? Finally the evvil ex received his just desserts! The Good Gus Series is available online at Kindle, Nook and Waterstones.
