There are many types of love.Of course every adult automatically thinks of romatic love.  However, parental love is one of the purest love that exists.  As parents we love our children with our whole heart and soul. Once we have children our lives revolve around them making the best possible decisions for them such as school, health, activities, etc. For example, I recently saw a mystery movie on the Hallmark channel. A wealthy man was about to be wed. They were being married in a church.  His mother had passed and his father had disappeared approximately twenty years ago. As the priest was saying the blessing four men suddenly appeared with guns. They ran down the aisle and started shooting.  The groom grabbed his bride and the priest jumped onto the groom. What was eventully discovered was that the priest was actually his father.  Once the excitement had died down the priest told the groom that he was his father but was also a documented priest. The men were after the priest because he had escaped from Russia and was outspoken about a number of politial issues that harmed people. The detective saw the priest’s reaction to protecting his son and even though the son was upset the detective reminded him that his father truly loved him. The three of them went off into protective custody. A second example is from the “Brady Bunch.” One of Carol and Mike’s friends could not have children. After visiting with the Brady’s they decided to adopt.  They adopted a little boy who was their ethnicity. The boy was thrilled with his new home, room and toys.  However, he really missed his two friends at the orphanage.  The couple thought about it and then met the boys. The boys were two different ethnicities. They met with Carl and Mike again to disuss it.  However, in reality they had already made up their minds to adopt them.  They thought three boys who felt like brothers should be brothers.  When the dad brought the two boys home everyone was extremely happy except for their neighbor.  She knocked on their door to complain and basically the dad in a polite manner told her that they were his children and then promptly slammed the door in her face. I loved it. Their actions proved that once again whether biological or adopted a parent’s love is always strong and forever. The Good Gus Series is available online at Kindle, Nook and Waterstones.
