There are many articles on the internet about people getting away with it. What is the it? It is lying, cheating, stealing, physical abuse and more. If a person has a great deal of money, getting away with it seems fairly straight forward. The other evil people do not as they do not have the money to hire a specialist attorney to represent them, buy someone off, or even several people. Many times, particularly in TV shows, people are framed and the real culprit continues on to hurt others. In an episode of “So Help me Todd”, an entire police division, with one detective leading the way magically framed numerous people to cover their tracks and their crimes. Obviusly, they were caught but they had been doing if for so long that a number of people were serving time for crimes that they did not commit. In the course of the episode, a good cop was forced to plead guilty as their threats were terribe. When he was in court with his attorney, Margaret Wright, a picture of his chid asleep in her bed magically appeared by his seat. These people were quite good and the writing for this series, I think, is excellent. People commiting crimes always assume they will never get caught. If you read the news, you find many cases of people falsely accused and serving time for all types of crimes. Sometimes the perpetrators never are caught. The system is supposed to be just and fair. If it was there wouldn’t be organizations going back reviewing cases and freeing innocent people. It is a sad situation. When we were young we were fairly certain that whatever infraction we did we would be getting away with it. We always ended up being caught. How do you feel about the system? Do you believe that there are truly times where the guilty get away with it and the innocent are framed? The Good Gus Series is available online at Kindle, Nook and Waterstones.
