Touched

Do you ever watch a TV show or movie that affects you or makes you feel touched deep in your heart? I recently saw a moive entitled “Touched.” It was about a woman dying of a severe medical condition. It starred the late Doris Roberts who could always play a rude woman quite well. In this movie she was borderline obnoxious. She was a best selling author who was also a widow. She was in her last days when her docotor forced her to have an inhome nurse. She rejected the first eight applicants and finally chose a nice woman. It was tough in the beginning but the nurse persisted. She literally helped her live longer than Doris had expected and gave her the courage to finish her last novel which she named “Touched.” Eventually, Doris began to actually like the nurse and one day they even went for a ride in her late husband’s mustang. It was a really good movie.  Feeling touched by any events any more seems almost impossible for most people. They are so wrapped up in themselves, technlogy, politics, work and sometimes family and friends that they just don’t even notice anything any more. There was also a TV show entitled “Touched by an Angel” starring Della Reese and Roma Downey. The basic premisis was that when people needed help they were touched by an angel. If only the world today could be kinder and see their way to bring peace, harmony and kindness to others. Every day the news is full of negativity and terrible events. People need to learn how to control their anger rather do terrible things. Maybe if we were all touched by kindness once in a while the world would be a better place, don’t you agree?
