Too Many Excuses

Being a paralegal can sometimes be difficult. Right now we have a client that just has too many excuses. She wants her documents and claims she will pay after. Here is the question. When is after? I finished these documents in April and every time the office asks her to pay she just has too many excuses. As she was a client previously, the attorney allowed the work prior to payment. Now he regrets it. The office has always had a policy that a client must pay first and then we would do the work. Once you give a person a chance, why is it that they take advantage of you? Yesterday, the fifteenth of their too many excuses claimed that the mother, who ordered the documents, had not been visited by her son in over four months.  Do you believe it because we don’t? Whenever you see videos on Facebook and even inTV shows there is always a primarily cheating husband and seondly a cheating wife whom when caught has too many excuses. The truth is who can possibly believe any of them?  This is also true in crime dramas. There is always a reason why the criminal committed the crime. Yet the number of reasons could overwhelm anyone. Not to mention that no one wishes to hear them because they are all lies. When I was young I never bothered to make up a reason if I came home late. Frankly, it was easier to listen to the yelling and accept the consequences. I was once late one minute and I was grounded for six weeks. Nice family, right?  That was too harsh. I never did that to my children. I looked at better ways to help them learn lessons and obviously right from wrong. Do you dislike too many excuses?
