Reptiles

Many years ago I lived in Florida in a community with a large pond that housed reptiles. Whenever I walked my two Dobermans, there was one in partiular that  would follow us around the pond. It never came after us but it was creepy. Years ago my late husband complained that the horrific hurricanes that destroyed specialty repitle shops would reap reprecussions. It began with the Everglades as they seeked shelter in a different location. Slowly they began traveling to escape the torrential rains. Then when Hurricane Andrew hit, many of the shops were destroyed and  lost their reptiles.  They escaped and began to head north and west. Now, in the media you will see an alligator on a golf course grazing about. They have steadily moved north and there was an article today about a massive alligator in North Carolina. He was about seven feet long  or 2.134 meters. The worse part is that they do not know where he disappeared to. Their home was once Florida and now they have continud to move north. They have also moved across Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and into Oklahoma and Texas. That is scary as they love to eat almost anything. When I lived in Florida if people weren’t careful their dogs would disappear. There were also no ducks or cats either. When my late husband said that they would travel no one would believe him. Well, look at them now. They have apparently adjusted to the cooler weather. I have no clue as to how far they will travel. The fact that they have steadily moved across the lower states in the U.S. is shocking unto itself. Do reptiles scare you as they certainly scare me? The Good Gus Series is available online at Kindle, Nook and Waterstones.
