The older generation, of which I am a member, tend to keep their older trends. For example, they have good china that is only used on holidays. I decided that was foolish and used my Irish china and the china I had when I married every day. What is the point of letting it just sit there or better still have an every day set of dishes? Granted I cannot use any of it in the microwave but that is a small price to pay. I love eating off my good dishes every day. Sterling silver is next on the list. Why again have two sets of silverware? I happen to have a stainless set and we use my daughter’s sterling silver every day. I don’t put in in the washer but I like the size of the forks and spoons as does my granddaughter. I use my stainless set for cooking. Many older people have a carrying case for their phone. Some individuals even use one that clips to their waist. I use the older trend of the phone case from Coach. I like the small phone so it always fits perfectly inside not to mention it is great for keeping lists when going shopping. I also have all the hummels that my family collected. I, of course, have them wrapped and put away in the hope chest my aunt gave me. I do not care that my furniture is part of the older trends. They are pieces that represent various gifts from members of my family. Of course, my favorite is my Morris Chair. It’s the chair I would sit in to watch and wait for my grandfather to come home. It may be that my family values are different or that because I am older and therefore, like the older trends. Do you? The Good Gus Series is available online at Kindle, Nook and Waterstones.
