Good Sense

People often talk about good sense and the lack thereof. However, most people have basic common sense. In these difficult times with Ebola, ISIS, and the threats from Russia to the Euro zone, good sense is needed now more than ever. Back in 2014 when the first case of Ebola  arrived outside of Africa and in the United States, people were scared and  even some went into  panic mode. Of course, there were manyy suggestions of various vitamins to take to help your immune system which is actually still aplicable today such as Vitamin C, D, etc.  In the old west, their fear of disease was real. There were no known cures, computers, well educated researchers with the latest equipment, and pharmaceutical companies working day and night for the cure. People and professionals, such as doctors, did the best they could to figure out and document diseases and conditions. There are wonderful research programs around the world today and with the internet available to everyone the sharing of data literally saves lives. In all of my books, common sense is foremost as the way to a solve a problem.  In book twenty-three, “Run Blackie Run” two of the characters, Liam and Frankie, decide to ride out of Pecos to Judge Ross’s ranch.  Instead of listening to their parents to stay on the road to Judge Ross’s ranch, as they rode along the trail on Frankie’s horse, Blackie, they became distracted by an abandoned house off in the distance.  Naturally, being boys they had to investigate it.  While the boys were exploring the house, a problem arose.  Frankie sent his horse Blackie into Pecos for help. As soon as the horse arrived without the boys, Sheriff Gus and Ray, Liam’s Dad, immediately knew something was terribly wrong.  How they solved this problem is through good common sense.  I hope as you view the Good Gus Books website, you will choose a book that reflects good  sense as a lesson for the child or children in your family.
