Fraud

Fraud sadly exisits in our society to in ever increasing numbers. I received a ‘red alert’ video from a woman that stated that if a man tries to give you his phone number on a piece of paper that you shouldn’t take it. The paper is laced with some type of drug that will make you dizzy and he will take you away for a despicable purpose. The next fraud alert is directly from me. Last night I was talking with Miss Patty who is also my workmate. I was busy folding laundry when I received a call. Without looking I answered it. The woman on the other end claimed to be from a specific Bank. She claimed that someone was using my card in Jacksonville, Florida. She knew the first few digits of my card and my address. She asked me if I was traveling and I replied no. She then said that the charges had been stopped as they suspected fraud. She asked a few more innocuous questions and then asked for my pin. I declined. She persisted. By then I realized that it was not my bank. I told her no and hung up. She instantly called me back demanding my pin. I refused when a man came on and called me a very nasty name. They promptly hung up. I instantly blocked them. I then proceeded to call my bank, cancel the card and block all future charges. I think what disturbed me the most was that they had my personal phone number, address and the first few digits of my card. The amount of fraud that occurs in our every day lives is amazing and astronomical. What on earth makes people believe that they can just steal from us and then when we refuse call us names? I find this upsetting, do you? The Good Gus Series is available online at Kindle, Nook and Waterstones.
