Doublecross

A doublecross is another form of cheating or deceiving. However, people tend to doublecross others. In an old “Leave it to Beaver,” Ward’s Uncle Billy came to visit to stay with the boys for a weekend while the parents went out of town. Uncle Billy is a colorful character with a great deal of personality and was written as a world traveler. He allowed Beaver to go to the movies with a friend. The Beave ended up in trouble because he opened a side door to let his friend in without paying and was caught. Not only did he lie to Uncle Billy but he took advantage of his good nature. Uncle Billy said he doublecrossed him. The beaver told Wally who absolutely agreed with Uncle Billy. When the parents returned the next day, Uncle Billy didn’t tell them. It was then that the Beave truly realized his wrongdoing and apologized to his uncle. He promised to never doublecross him again. It is an interesting lesson. The sad part is that people do that to their closest friends and even family members. Taking advantage of a good natured person is wrong and unjustifiable. All the time I write about kindness, being true to yourself and others, plus treating all people and animals with respect. It’s not always easy to have patience for many people. For example, my daughter rescues animals frequently and then rehomes them. She saved four kittens that appeared to be quite hungry. She managed to give two away to families eager for the pets. The other two are still here. I have fed them enough that they are steadily gowing and gaining weight. Yesterday, as I reached down on the porch to give them their food, one kitten was in such a hurry she scratched my finger to the point that it bled. Rather than feel as if I had been doublecrossed. I told her in a firm tone to never do that again. So far she hasn’t.
