How many people do you know in life who are truly generous? You may see people tip well and think that they are generous. It is a nice way to show appreciation to a hardworking person. However, what is true generosity? In an old”Mash” episode as the holidays approached, the poor people who lived near the outpost began receiving annonymous gifts. No one could figure out who was being so generous. Of course, at the end of the show you learned it was Major Winchester. He was a character from Boston who was wealthy, a Harvard graduate, and cultured. He always acted as almost a rude konw it all. Sometimes you never know. In a different Christmas episode another year, Radar O’Rielly, wrote to various families and asked for something to help the staff primarily, Dr. Pierce, Dr. Hunneycut, the ever obnoxious Captian Burns and a few others. The gifts that stood out the most in that show were the gifts to Dr. Hunneycut from his family and a knitted cap for Dr. Winchester. He truly realized upon receiving it just how generous of heart Radar really was. Many people are generous but only so that they can be recognized or noticed. They just don’t give out of the goodness of their heart. Do you know anyone who is truly generous? A generous thought would be to purchase several of the Good Gus series books and donate them to children in a hospital.
