Buying the Cheapest

The old saying, “You get what you pay for” truly doesn’t always apply when you are buying the cheapest. For example, at the grocery there are items that are not brand names that as just as good. I will purchase the organic corn at Walmart. It actually tastes quite good. However, buying the cheapest in other foods is a bad idea. If you like beef stew, for example, there are various choices and types of cuts of beef. The cut up offering is always tough. I have tried to marinate it and I even saw a reel about using carbonated water. Neither way worked. The trouble is that inflation increased last month and is reflected in the prices. You do have to pay attention when buying the cheapest product. My late husband had a saying. He said, “Always purchase quality shoes as your feet carry you.” In our family, we never even consider buying the cheapest. He was right, though, as your feet are very important. Choosing to purchase the lowest priced items to put on your feet is a bad idea. You can end up with sore feet plus the shoes will wear out much quicker. Think about tires. Once again, buying the cheapest is not worth it. Not all tires are manufactured with the top quality standards. This, of course, means that they will wear out sooner.  People always think that buying the cheapest is the best as they save money. However, in the long run they do not. How do you feel about it? Books are a great items for the individuals on your Christmas list. They provide wonderful entertainment and always stimulate the imagination.
