There are many times in life when we need a hug. It can be both a happy moment or a sad moment. The best part about young children is that they always love to be hugged. Not only do they enjoy it but so do we. Unfortunately, in the shools today, hugging is no longer allowed. There are too many incidents of teachers being abusive to both young children and teens.. That is truly sad. Often if something is difficult a hug can give comfort. When my grandfather passed I was devasted. His sister, Helen, took me under he wing at his wake and funeral. She hugged me a great deal which helped me face the day. You never know when a person needs a hug. Often on TV shows you see people hug for something positive. It brings a smile to our faces. The sad times are always the worst. Sometimes a hug helps but it isn’t enough. If a terrible event takes place, it is almost easier to just cry by yourself. It gives you some type of relief at least temporarily. Toddlers love to be hugged. They even like to hug family pets. Of course, the pets love it too. How often have you wished for a hug during a difficult period and didn’t receive one? Probably more that you can realize. So the next time you need a hug or feel someone else does, ask for it or give one. Either way you will be glad you did.
