Homeless Rates

The homeless rates jumped significantly this past year. Many people have lost their jobs, industries have slowed down or changed, plus the weather has affected crops, construction, etc. What are they to do? They can no longer afford to live in their homes and if they had a mortgage, they were foreclosed. Even if they found another job, it may not cover all their expenses. Not to mention the inflation increased again last month. It also doesn’t look like the price of groceries is going down any time soon either. Just today there were two articles about individuals becoming homeless. Once they use their savings, as they no longer had a job, the next step was eviction and then everything fell apart. There is nothing worse than an older person losing everything. They have worked their entire lives and now what can they do? Starting over as an older adult is not easy. Trying to obtain a job and housing is not an easy feat. I saw on the news last week regarding the significantly high numbers of homeless rates of people particularly in California in the major cities. We all need help and we should find a way to help people in need. That is what the Christmas season is about but it really should be all year long. Many families are cleaning out their closets and garages to help out by donating. I hope there are programs to help people land a job and get back on their feet. It is sad to see so many people suffering, don’t you agree? It just occurred to me that even though my books arent’t expensive, I will donate one dollar to a shelter or nearby charity for every e-book sale for the Good Gus series and the five star “Misplaced Trust.” It is small but it is better than zero. The Good Gus Series is available online at Kindle, Nook and Waterstones. Hard copies, personally autographed, are available through our website www.goodgusbooks.com along with past blogs for your reading enjoyment. Now available audio and videos for the Good Gus series on YouTube! Digitizing for all the books are available now on YouTube! “Misplaced Trust” is now available on Amazon in e-book form. It is also available digitally at www.misplacedtrustbook.com. If you are thinking of a Will or a Living Trust, “Misplaced Trust” with a five star rating on Amazon will give you the information you need to make an informed decision. The Good Gus series, books one through four, are now available at the Morgan Mill Mail/UPS.
