This week begins a new year and a fresh start for us all. It is the time when all the credit card bills arrive and people decide to lose weight and exercise. In some areas the weather is very cold with snow so many people join a gym. January is a fresh start month for all gyms with special pricing. It is also the time that people try to keep whatever resolutions they made for the new year. Looking at your finances is another way to face the new year. Many people go over their budgets or if they don’t use one, their bills to see how to sort it all out. Of course, many shops are already ready with cruise wear and seasonal clothing for warm get aways. When people thing about the new year they also consider changes. It might be to join a club, make new friends, try a new sport, visit more museums, etc. Broadening a person’s horizon is a great way to begin 2025. Something else people may try is begin a new challenge to finally destress. It might be yoga, meditating, or taking quiet walks to unwind. Whatever you choose, it will bring peace and harmony into your life. When I was young I lived after moving to the states, in New England. It was cold! I did help a woman who ran a small company selling homes to the snowbirds in Florida. They would live in their homes in the winter and then rent them out during the spring, summer and fall. Eventually, they would retire there. It was interesting and always at the beginning of the year, all the snowbirds dreamt of a fresh start to escape the winters and we were their ticket.
