Heating Element

My daughter, Heather, figured out that the heating element went bad in our hot water heater. As we did not buy the original heater, we surely would have added a full warrenty. Once she and our neighbor figured it out, she called the water heater company. They figured it out and reaized that it was in fact the heating element. By this time, a week had slipped by and our showers consisted of heating up water to wash and then rinse with. It was cold. The water heater company figured it out with her at the end of last week and the one important factor was that the parts were warrantied. With all the bad weather and even paying extra for a speedy delivery, it finally arrived late Wednesday evening.  After she left work she had to go to two hardware stores on Thursday before one carried the correct tool for the job. So last night the repair began after she came home from work. At first the water leaked even though she shut it off. She finally hooked up the hose to go out the front door. We have these two cats,  which she rescused, that live primarily outside. They kept coming in until we put them in the dog’s crate. One cat is truly obnoxius and when I tried to pick her up she rolled over and scratched me.  It took forever for the water to go through the hose. It finally began to work. This ordeal took a few hours. The water did leak and I emptied buckets until it finally stopped. We removed the hose and then she installed it. I have to say, a  hot shower this morining was heavenly. Have you ever had trouble with a heating element?
