Trends

One of the newest trends both in life and on reels is parents feeling their childen owe them money for raising them. I saw an article about a woman who’s estranged father passed and left her money. Her mother is demanding the inheritance as she raised her alone. First of all it was her choice to have a child. Second the child loved you unconditionally. Third as a parent it is your responsibility. The woman is keeping the money and using it as a downpayment for a home.  I see this continually in reels. The stories always revolve about money, marrying for money and the evil mother or father demanding money from the child who was most successful. You, I imagine, as I did and still do,  loved my children and now grandchildren with all my heart and soul. Yes, sometimes they do hurt you but you have to get past it. They make foolish mistakes and often come back and apologize and ask for forgiveness. However, that is not true of everyone. Many of the adult children in the reels are spoiled brats. They expect all the money, attention, latest new fashions, cars and anything else that is trending. In one of the reels I enjoyed recently there was a story about a young woman who was the heir to a fortune. She kept a low profile and worked as a clerk in a design company. Her skills were quite good. She was engaged to a man she secretly helped rise professionally. Then he dumped for her best friend because she had more money. One of the reasons she was undercover was to meet the CEO of the company she was working at. Years ago, both the girl and the CEO’s grandparents had signed a family alliance that they were to be married. The CEO had his assistant pretend to be him. It was a cute story as they fell in love with each other and then eventually learned the truth. Always in these reels is some woman who wants to marry a rich man and goes out of her way to hurt the obvious decent woman. Do you believe in the latest trends that children owe their parents money?
