We all deserve a second chance except for the people who pretend to change, but are still the exact same hurtful people. There is an episode of “Haley Dean Mysteries” in which a man disposes of his wife and only serves ten years in prison. He becomes a model citizen and is so convincing that he is released early. During this period, he corresponded with a woman and married her convincing her that he was an innocent victim. He does receive a second chance and then reverts to his former horrible self. There are people serving time who should be free. That is one of the reasons that there are a few groups that investigate wrongful imprisonment. They have been successful in the release of numerous innocent people. In our everyday lives we all make mistakes. Sometimes we are forgiven and other times we aren’t. Minor mistakes should be something where a person receives a second chance such as an auto accident. Most people do not intend to have an accident it simply happens. We cannot all predict when one will occur. I have been hit by a drunk driver broadside, rear ended by a woman speeding when I was stopped and even crashed into by an off duty policeman who hit me head on. He was drunk and magically disappeared from the scene. I was rushed to a hospital and my late father-in-law immediately arrived and assisted me. Needless to say, the resolution of that case took a great deal of effort. For the woman who rear ended me, it has been over six years and there has had some resolution but it still isn’t over. Do you give people a second chance.
