As more and more businesses close the unemployed number continues to rise. What is the real reason for the closing? If I was to take a guess I would say that the cost of living has risen so much that people can no longer afford to shop like they used to. On December twenty fourth my daughterand and granddaughter wanted to stop at Dollar Tree. I had never seen their car park so full and they said the store was crowded. It was a clear sign that people simply cannot afford items any more. Just today I saw that Lands End and Joann were shuttingg down. Two great stores that now will be gone. It is difficult to understand why there isn’t any new technology that would encourage new jobs. Even the electric cars are decreasing in the Unitted States. While development and sales are increasing in Europe and other areas, Elon Musks’ vehicles along with Ford are dropping them. He will probably keep trying but I read Ford will lose a huge sum of money. What will happen to all the manufacturing facilities and tools? I wonder if they can be converted. I hope with all the money from tariffs that people will receive decent unemploymnet payments while they look for work. I think looking for a job is difficult. The people in human resources have the power. As anyone who reads my blog knows I used to and still do for anyone that needs it write a CV or resume. Many years ago a friend of my late husband’s had a son who had graduated from college. He had no skills but he ended up being hired because the HR woman thought he was cute. You never know.
