Older People Habits

Until today I did not realize that I had older people habits. It is quite possible so do you. I lay my clothes out the night before I go to sleep. That way I am prepared and I make sure they are compatable with the weather. I make my bed everyday. I am surprised people do not. It is just so much neater. Knitting and chrocheting have always been older people habits. However, I used to do it when I was young. I made hats primarily. Let’s not leave out napping, my personal favorite and baking. I love baking and so do my recipients. One of my late husband’s favorite old people habits was listening to music from the 1950’s and 1960’s. There was nothing else. One habit I do not see any more is recycling grocery bags. I do it all the time since my daughter was in the sixth grade and they had recycling as one of their projects. Europe is phasing out plastic grocery bags. Currently you pay a fee if you do not bring your own. One old fashioned thing that some people still do is pop their own popcorn. The truth is the prepackaged products are unhealthy. Plus it is a lot more fun to pop it as a family and wait for it it rise. When I was young Jiffy Pop was extremely popular but you still popped it on the stove. Many men wear an undershirt still everyday. I wear a camisole the second it turns chilly. I guess it is a kin to the undershirt. One last habit taking care of your feet. My late husband always said your feet carry you so don’t buy cheap footwear. Do you have any of these habits? In the Good Gus series these habits probably existed. Try a qucik read in e-book. In “Misplaced Trust” many of the older people habits were tossed once the estate was being settled.
