What was it like in the 1980’s? First of all we had disco. It was very popular and we had disco bands, outfits, dances, and even shows with disco. The world has changed since the 1980’s. Sadly, children including teens were allowed to be hit both by parents and school teachers. The first time my stepson came home from not listening in shop, the teacher gave him three wacks on his backside. I was shocked. Our course, in the 1980’s you didn’t have AI or a a computer of your very own. You still did real research for school either at the library, in school or from encyclopedias. The worst part about the 1980’s was that smoking was allowed everywhere. I was walking the other day and saw a woman smoking. I couldn’t believe it. Even in sections of Las Vegas smoking is not allowed, just in all the casinos. There were no personal cell phones. You spoke on a land line long distance and the charges were outrageous. I remember calling my father-in-law one Suday when everyone was out. I was in Texas and he was in California. He said hello and then asked why I was calling, and if anything was wrong. I told him no that everything was fine and I wanted to see how he was. He told me he was fine and that long distance was too expensive so he hung up. I was crushed. I always enjoyed talking to him. You also had to be find the movies or events in the newspaper. No online back them. This was also true as there were no movies in the Good Gus series.
