Most people take vitamins on a daily basis. Today social media was discussing a low amount of B12 causing dementia. When considering vitamins many articles tend to push a high dose. I completely disagree. It can cause damage to your stomach. Safe amounts are the best way to go. If you are not sure look up the safest dosage. Some people take only a multivitamin. Many companies have good brands but it is important to read the amounts on the labels. Vitamin D is also recommended and particularly for older people. It primarily helps the bone structure. I take 25mcg twice a day and on my last blood test my numbers were perfect. People tend to believe if your are sick that you should increase your Vitamin C into the thousands. That is an unsafe number. I think five hundred milligrams twice a day is plenty. Anyone who has Type I diabetes should take Vitamin C at least twice a day. Insulin destroys vitamins within the body and vitamin C helps to replenish it. There are also supplements for anyone with Type I to help curb sugar cravings. A neighbor of mine is a Type II whose diet is atrocious. He does drink diet soda and eat fast food which does not help his condition. I expct before long he will be on the needle a few times a day. Sometimes people who have certain conditions consult a nutritionist or look on the internet for supplements. It makes a difference for them. Do you take vitamins?
