Excuses

Why do people always have several excuses to justify their actions when they do something wrong? Obviously, children always justify their behavior because they are young and do not understand. They use the old stand by that the dog ate their homework as an excuse in school. Adults are a different matter. When a person makes a mistake at work they have hundreds of excuses which literally mean nothing. Their excuses might range from too much traffic which is why they are late. Of course, there are individuals who will always  be late. That is usually the main reason they are made redundant. Then you have the reasons why they didn’t complete the project on time or worse stole someone else’s work and took credit for it. Sometimes the managers figure these despicable acts on their own or another honest employee will tell them. When you watch the TV mysteries and even comedies there are always excuses and justifications for whatever may have occurred. What always amazes me is how the writers invent the plots with a little reality to keep you interested. Then, as the excuses fly after they are caught it almost seems like old news. I know a person whose whole life revolves around excuses. He is never wrong, always has an excuse for being late, and justifies all of his actions which people no longer believe. In the Good Gus series, Bob from the Sweet Shop did have a reason why there was no chocolate ice cream. It clearly was not his fault. That is in the first book, “Pecos Meets Bad Bart.” Sheriff Gus solves the problem in a respectable manner which is always a good lesson for children. The Good Gus series is both in e-book readily available for a child’s tablet or paperback form. “Misplaced Trust” may just want you need to relax at the end of the day.
