Often when people are in a difficult situation, rather than figure out a solution, they decide to wing it and no I am not discussing chicken wings. It is not always a good idea. If you are having a problem, the smart move is to figure out the solution in a logical manner. It is important to list the pros and cons to find the answer. Even if you are on the spot, don’t allow anyone to force you into making a decision without thinking about it. Many years ago my late husband and I bought a lot. We discovered after the fact that the entire area was riddled with termites. The attorney we used, who later became a judge, advised me to think before I answered any questions. He said you can’t just wing it. It was good advice that is still applicable today. Sadly, we lost our money but it was better than building a home on a termite infested area. Even when you are in a job interview, don’t allow the human resources person to pressure you into a rapid response. If you really want the job, think about your answers. It may be the difference between being hired or continuing to seek employment. Whenever you are under pressure for anything and this would include being stopped by the police for possible speeding or other reasons, a confrontation with a workmate or even an argument with your partner or children, think, don’t wing it. In the Good Gus series the children often believed that they could solve a situation by just winging it. In a few of the stories, parents, Sheriff Gus, Dr. Moore and even Nurse Joyce solved the problem by finding a positive solution. It is a better idea, don’t you agree?
