Hope

Being European, I watch the Euro news everyday. Today they spoke about the Hope Games in Italy. They are actually ongoing games in the prisons. They are designed to give the men hope. I thought it was an excellent idea. Rather than spend time fighting, they are practising sports. It is quite positive. I like to know what is going on, but how can a person have hope when there is so much heartache and violene in the world. There is also the high unemployment rate. Over twenty-five percent of the working people in the United States are unemployed. Heavens knows what that number will be with all the new college grads. We all have to find some type of hope in our everyday lives. Trying to think positively is not easy for many individuals. When I began writing I thought I could bring joy to children and with adults to see what really happens without a living trust. Everyone who has read the book has been facinated by each chapter. We all need hope to move forward. It might be easier to find ways to do events that do not cost money. On Friday, near here, there were two free events. One was a concert with the Bellamy Brothers and the other was an outdoor move entitled “The Sandlot.” We plan on going with another family, to which event I do not know as it has not been decided. As you wake up each day, find hope in the fact that you have a place to live, food to eat and if no work the possibility of finding it quickly. In the Good Gus series, everyone has food, clothing and shelter and the gift of good friends and neighbors.
