Loneliness

Right now our brains are shrinking from fear of loneliness. Social isolation damages your brain’s neural pathways as opposed to smoking fifteen cigarettes a day. Many people, especially older adults, who are experiencing social isolation on a daily basis are experiencing their brains just withering away. It is also an early sign of dementia. If you spend time worrying about whatever is on the news, if they will have items you like at the grocery, etc. it is nothing compared to true loneliness. Besides being an emotional problem, it is also a medical issue. The more you isolate from others, the worse your brain becomes. It is amost to the point that you no longer know how to socialize so being by yourself seems preferable. Rather than allow loneliness to take over, start to change your life. For example, if you would like to text to a friend whom you haven’t spoken to in a long time, stop and think about something positive about them. Possibly remember a good time and start from there. It gives you a chance to reconnect and turn your life around. There are so many groups, try to bring yourself to join one even if it is only a book club. It would be a good start don’t you agree? In the Good Gus series, no one experienced loneliness. If a person was alone, someone always visited them including Sheriff Gus. The series reminds children to be nice to one another. It is available both in paperback and e-book form. In dealing with clients who are in “Misplaced Trust” many did experience loneliness which gave way to relatives to promise to take care of them and then cheat them. It is available in e-book form. The Good Gus Series is available online at Kindle, Nook and Waterstones.
