It seems in life now people are just concealing everything. I know that people revise their CV’s or resumes to make their work experience look stronger. In addition, they modify the dates of employment to make them appear to have true longevity. It works for the most part. Many years ago my late husband and I ran a contract engineering firm. We employed individuals with verifiable skills and education. I was the person who rewrote all CV’s. Most people tend to put in too much data and not the relevant information. Of the eleven people I have rewritten their CV’s within the past year, all were hired. It is really very simple. Rather than concealing the facts or making them up, you simply take their positive qualities and accentuate them. It always works. There is also the problem of people being less than honest and pretending to like their workmates, relatives, or even acquaintances. Unfortunately, in the professional work concealing that data is often a necessary hazzard. I once worked with a woman for many years who was horrible. I had no options and once I finally quit, I was elated. She tended to be a tattletale and caused me a great deal of grief. When she was squealing, she was also exaggerating and making things up. During that period, employment was scarce. As far as families are concerned, many just don’t care anymore whether they get along or not. I am dealing with a person right now in work that has not spoken to his sister for over fifteen years. Unfortunately, they do need to speak to resolve legal issues.
