Landlines are making a comeback. Parents are fed up with cell phones, the costs and the lack of concentration from their tweens, teens and other family members. This way they can cut down on screen time. If kids had their way, they would be on their phones 24/7. I think it is an excellent idea. One of the even bigger reasons is that even in school, the students are on the screens most of the day. Books almost seem to have gone out of style. Every child must have a laptop computer in order to work both in school and at home. Most parents don’t want their children into all the technical for learning. They still believe in old fashioned books. By installing a landline many parents believe is a safer way to go. In all the old TV shows the teens would tie up the phone lines. Often the parents would limit call time and have a landline just for themselves. Of course, back then there were no cells or portable phones. When I landed a job, I had a princess phone in pink, of course. Plus now they have the cordless landlines with a built in answering machine. I think it is a great idea. What do you think? Landlines did exist in the Good Gus era. I just never added them in. Think about the series as a nightly read for a child in either e-book or paperback. “Misplaced Trust” characters did use phones but only the cell variety. Take a break and read a chapter in e-book. The Good Gus Series is available online at Kindle, Nook and Waterstones. Hard copies, personally autographed, are available through our website www.goodgusbooks.com along with past blogs for your reading enjoyment. Now available audio and videos for the Good Gus series on YouTube! Digitizing for all the books are available now on YouTube! “Misplaced Trust” is now available on Amazon in e-book form. It is also available digitally at www.misplacedtrustbook.com. If you are thinking of a Will or a Living Trust, “Misplaced Trust” with a five star rating on Amazon will give you the information you need to make an informed decision.
