Holiday Meals

Holiday meals for many individuals and families may be difficult in America this year. As they are not renewing the SNAP program the money people need not only for food but personal essentials such as shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant and a few more items will still be purchased but their food diet will suffer. I find this difficult to understand as there are also older people who have worked their entire lives and not only is their social security low but their choices for food must be changed. I thought we were supposed to be fair to everyone yet that is not what is happening. There were elections yesterday and a great deal of celebration. Why didn’t the money spent be given to the families who need food. If they ban fast food and take away from the program, I agree 100%. My thoughts have always been to eat at home. It is cheaper and certainly tastes better. Maybe you can’t afford a large steak, but what is wrong with eating good homemade foods that are nourishing and filling? It is a question many people answer with outside food is better. In the movie, “The Magic of Ordinary Days” the new  wife told her husband she didn’t know how to cook. She asked about the library. Best route to take don’t you agree?  In the Good Gus series holiday meals were ate by individual families. The Christmas book, “The Special Gift” is a great read for all children in paperback and e-book.  Holiday meals in “Misplaced Trust” don’t exist. You can find out why in e-book. The Good Gus Series is available online at Kindle, Nook and Waterstones.
