Stringing Along

When the words stringing along come to mind most people thing of the dating scene. However, there are many other ways. For example, in ads for jobs they often say competitive salary or to be determined. What does that mean to you? It often ends up being a low salary ater two or three interviews. If they won’t say the amount my attitude is don’t apply. I saw an article that said that homework was part of the interview. Is this a way of obtaning free work to solve their problems and stringing you along ? I have to admit it is ingenious. Have you ever read the ads about a side hustle with a low investment? Those are great. They lead you on and on and the longer it takes the more it will cost to invest at the end. Then, how do you know you will succeed? They often claim guaranteed succeess, but they don’t offer a money back guarantee. In the ads that   say you wear many hats that means you do more than one job. You do other people’s jobs as well. I love the ones that describe the workplace as a friendly environment. No way. It is usually chaos and possibly a non stop workplace with no breaks. I love the ads that state average pays. Again not only are they stringing you along but it is probably commission only, often with no base salary. The pressure to perform  on your real experience may be at low pay.
