Almond Mom

Until today I had never heard of the term almond mom.It is a parent that includes eating restrictions in her childrens’ lives. They believe that whatever foods they offer are the perfect foods and she is one hundred percent correct. She thinks she knows what is the right diet as she eats it herself. They restrict portions which in itself is unfair. There are children who do not like certain foods and end up being hungry because they don’t eat those them. They also believe that everyone should eat every four to six hours. What if you aren’t hungry? They do encourage drinking water only and if they are slightly overweight to go on a diet. I would think that the smart move would be more exercise. The children that sit in front of the TV or some type of screen eating have a higher success rate of gaining too much weight. The ideal choice is to do chores, hang out with friends, walk the dog, clean up their rooms, etc. Sitting all day is not good for anyone regardless of age. I think the worse part about an almond mom is that they follow new trends. Many of the social media doctors  do videos of what is currently safe to eat and what to ignoe. If anyone read their articles they would find that it changes with the wind. I am not kidding. The reality is that their children will eat junk food whenever they are out of their site. Not a good choice. I baked  and cooked so much food that my children were not that interested in fast food. Their friends loved to visit our house as there were always homemade foods and baked goods. Of course, then and now I still use organic. Are you an almond mom or do you know one? The almond mom did not exist in the Good Gus series. The food was farm fresh and home cooked.
