No matter where you go or what you do you inevitably come in contact with people who are power hungry. It is particularly noticeable in Home Owner Associations, HOA. Whomever is in charge takes their position above and beyond. In my former HOA a former president had to resign. He told all vendors that he was the owner our development and he only allowed people to live in it. Can you image? No vender could supply products or do repairs without a kickback to him and two of his friends who were also on the board. The other two people were voted out. He continued to take the kickbacks after the other two individuals had left. Finally, he was caught taking bribes, stalking women, videotaping women at the pool and a few other despicable activities. To this day he still tells any new home owner or tenant that he is in charge and to contact him if they need anything. He has gone too far. He has received notices from the HOA attorney which he ignores. This board is extremely power hungry. I have read their bylaws and they are somewhat vague. Many of the new residents are having a difficult time due to the fact that the are no true guidelines, no data for homeowner fees and who is actually running for office. Once power goes to a person’s head it is almost impossible to stop them without a great deal of effort. I never liked HOA’s. How do you feel about HOA’s? HOA’s did not exist in the Good Gus series. Try an e-book before school starts back up. In “Mispaced Trust” I didn’t really discuss HOA’s. Now that the new year is here think about a good read and download the e-book. The Good Gus Series is available online at Kindle, Nook and Waterstones. Hard copies, personally autographed, are available through our website www.goodgusbooks.com along with past blogs for your reading enjoyment.
