A recent study resulting from King’s College of London stated that Gen Z men had traditional views of marriage, gender roles and relationships as compaired to the older generation. ‘According to the study, thirty-one percent of men worldwide believe women should obey their husbands, and thirty-three percent felt that they should have the final say on important decisions.’ This is a stark difference in the thoughts of baby boomers of between thirteen and seventeen percent. This included twenty-nine countries. Twenty-four percent of Gen Z believe women should not be too independent or self sufficient. These attitudes also affected the last presidential election in the United States. I think that both the men and women need a lesson in Irish history.
