Today I had to go to the doctor for my yearly checkup. While I was waiting, which was two hours, what I did notice was that every patient except me were on their phones. I am older so I was surprised to see everyone playing on their phones. A woman even walked out with a tablet. Older Americans were the people who always read. I love reading and if I am engrossed in a book, I will read it while I am cooking. I have my own small library. One of the reasons I wrote the Good Gus series was to encourage reading. I wrote “Misplaced Trust” to help see the importance of being prepared at the end and hopefully have everything work out the way they want. What I find amazing is that all ages play games on their phones. There are so many commercials for games that I am sick of seeing them. We shouldn’t all be so attached and hung up on our phones. For many people that is the first item they touch as soon as they wake up. Then they check their email either on their phone or computer. I prefer to wake up, brush my teeth and hair and head to the kitchen. I then proceed to let the dogs out and begin my day. There are individuals such as myself who exercise first. I do not have a gym near me so I do the basics and move on to a mini trampoline and weights. I don’t look at my computer until I have eaten and finished all exercise. I think it is healthier, don’t you? How do you start your day? In the Good Gus series, chores are always at the top of the list. The children go to school while Sheriff Gus checks the town and it’s people. At the end of your day think about a good read such as “Misplaced Trust.” It will clear your mind.
