Affection

Public displays of affection only occur with celebrities when they wish to be noticed by the media. Children love affection. I think they crave it. Hugging our children and kissing them is a wonderful way to show them how much we love them. For some parents it is non existent. I know a man who never gives his child affection. This is the type of child that will end up seeking it elsewhere because she didn’t have it at home. I always gave my children affection. This is also true of my grandchildren. I think the more love we spread the better off our world is. People need to stop being so cruel. There are unfortunate children who come from homes who experience no love, physical harm, various forms of violence and mental abuse. We always read little quick sayings on Facebook about making the world a better place but how many people actually go about it? Today, I had to go to the pharmacy as I have an infection. When I asked the cost, the girl behind the counter said one amount but then said, “Wait, with your prescription card  I will give you another ten dollars off.” My response was, “Aren’t you a sweetheart!.” She immediately had a huge smile on her face and thanked me. It was only something minor, but I was pleased and I just may have made her day. Most people never take the time to be polite or use manners. Both of which are a small sign of affection.
