Writing

I have been watching a movie about two authors, a male and female, that joined together after a break to start writing a sequel to their previous successful children’s books. They were also dating which obviously helped to end the relationship. However, their old publisher decided he wanted a sequel so they joined forces again. So far it has not gone well more so for the female than the male. She moved on to crime books and they sold well just not well enough. The publisher now wants to bring the books up to speed in what they consider to be the modern world. They wish to promote flash figures such as super heroes. The authors are absolutely against it as is their agent. I agree. Good stories are rare.  The most interesting part is that young children really love them. In my second book, “The Cattle are Restless” every group of children I read to loved it. It involved a prairie dog exciting cattle which then turned into a stampede. It was exciting to listen to plus the children learned that everyone helped out so that the cattle would not stampede through the town of Pecos. It is important for any young children to hear stories about positive events that don’t involve super heroes. It teaches them that the people who band together are the real heroes. The Good Gus series is availabe in both paperback and e-book forms. In “Misplaced Trust” there is a great deal of writing by the characters but only to benefit themselves. It is easily available in e-book form. The Good Gus Series is available online at Kindle, Nook and Waterstones.
