There is a new vocabulary and many people do not even begin to understand but now have to learn. I had previously written about individuals quietly quitting. I had to agree with them as they were being asked to go above and beyond thier positions. I saw an article about a woman who received a new boss. The upper management asked her to train him. When she asked for a raise she received the usual non commital statement. Basically maybe but probably not. There are a variety of terms that are now being used. As I was previously in personnel in placing both permanent and temporaty individuals I paid close attention to unfair treatment. During my period, anyone over forty was discriminated against. I went out of my way to place them. Still today, though, women are not paid equally. I knew a female who took over a position as a man left. She only received half of his pay even though she was more qualified. That was truly unfair. As the number of layoffs or people made redundant is occuring, it is becoming a tight marketplace. The working at home is now an on again off again situation. I have worked at home for a number of years. It is much easier for me for a variety of reasons. In the past people went above and beyond, often not receiving additional compensation only to be passed over by a replacement. I saw a video the other day on Facebook about a manager who was upset about a woman who would disappear for brief periods. The manager called her up to his office as she was the best qualified person for the projects he needed. When she explained that she had to leave to use the restroom due to her ethnicity, he was livid. He fixed the problem the same day and eventually she was promoted. He was a quality manager who cared about the work not any other factors. The article still not explain a few new vocabulary terms which is inconvenient don’t you agree?
