How often do you hear, “No, it is not my fault?” However, more frequently it is the person’s fault. People say this all the time. In TV shows and on Facebook it is always the same. A person may do something that they shouldn’t have done and yet they vehemently always deny it. When our chidren were young they also said, “Not it’s not my fault.” When we pointed out that they were caught they still denied it. One time my daughter ate an extra dessert. She was still an only child at the time. When her father asked her where it went, she told him the wolfe ate it. She went on to say it was not her fault as she couldn’t stop him. Of course, we knew she was not telling the truth and that she just really wanted that extra pudding. In many of the shows, when a criminal is finally caught they use the same line. They claim they had to do it as the other person made them, hurt them, took their love interest, stole from them and any other ridiculous excuse they could think of. The commedian, Flip Wilson, was hilarious. One of his favorite sayings was, “The devil made me do it.” People loved him and his comedy. It was always funny and never crude or riske’. Many of the commedians today are not that funny and a number use the politicians as fodder. Sometimes it is true but there is nothing really to laugh about.
