There are so many articles now that include sales by fear. For example, there are emails that claim a food shorage is coming. If you don’t buy their product you will be in danger of starving. Most families keep a supply of food in their homes. They like to have options for cooking and be prepared. Particularly now that more home dining is popular due to high prices and inflation. Then there is the rolling blackouts. The sales by fear claim that you must have a generator and possibly solar. If there are rolling blackouts people will cope and adjust as we have in the past. I hate this kind of borderline intimidation. We all have brains and have worked to support ourselves. They must think that by frightening us they will increase their volume of sales. It reminds of when you go to a dealer to purchase a car. Before you know it they are using sales by fear to intimidate you into buying a car. For example, their tactics vary from: “You will never find a car at this price with such low mileage.” How do we know that they didn’t turn the mileage back. That is exactly what the father did in the movie “Matilda.” He was proud of it. It seems that it still works on at least some people. Of course there are the ads claiming there are only so many products left and if you do not buy immediately they will be gone forever. Sure until they re-order. The sales by fear is unethical. It’s a cheap way to intimidate people into making purchases. I am a person who likes to do research first for the purchase of various products even the lower priced everyday goods. With ordering online, it has become easier to comparison shop. I have nothing against people receiving commissions as many individuals started out that way just to make a living. I just believe that sales by fear is unethical, don’t you agree? The Good Gus Series is available online at Kindle, Nook and Waterstones.
