Even though it is illegal, price gouging still exists. I was speaking to my friend the other day. His wife is retired and took her car in for service. Three thousand dollars later or three thousand two hundred sixty-one Euros. When he told me what they supposedly fixed I was shocked. Over the years I have learned a great deal about car repairs both from my own son and my stepson. I can often diagnose a car to the amazement of most mechanics. They did the price gouging for two reasons. First she was an older woman and second her ethnicity. Individuals often have this issue when trying to rent from another individual. Their ethnicity will cause the landlord to change the price. Another form of price gouging is now occuring in the Air B&B industry. In California a room now comes with extra charges for use of items such as the stove, refrigerator, microwave, washer and/or dryer, etc. The costs are outrageous. Again the exact same price as my friend’s wife for car repairs. I saw a woman from the UK with a video about an Air B&B. This woman whom she had considering renting from for a short term had signs on every single item. There were charges for literally everything. It made me think that she wanted the money just not a short term renter. We all know that companies are using inflation for price gouging. This even includes petrol. The groceries, for example, have really increased prices. Once the items stopped selling, they magically reduced the costs. No matter what industry you review it is all the same.
