Food Recalls

Have you noticed the inordinate amount of food recalls?  It is not bad enough that eggs are so expensive, but being recalled somehow makes it worse. Fortunately, my daughter and I receive our eggs from a neighbor down the street. Today there was an article about all the food recalls for Campbells. It is not just the cream of chicken soup, but various forms of other soups as well. Why are all these foods becoming contaminated? I understand about the bird flu for egss, but why the soups and other meals in a can? To be the best of my knowledge, particuarly as I have used their products in the past, they have always used above and beyond sanitation in manufacturing their products. What is going wrong now? I am not sure we will ever know. The Campbells brand has been a staple in all groceries. It was started in 1869. One of the staples growing up for almost everyone was tomato soup. We didn’t have blenders or bullets to grind the tomoatoes to make soup. The truth is it is very easy to make and very tasty. If you would like the recipe just email me. I have passed it along to several people. When I lived in Ireland, we had a pork recall. All the pigs were sick which led to almost no meats in the grocery. You were lucky if you could get chicken. Of course, today, everything is mass produced so if one distributor fails, there are many more to take their place. Do you buy Campells’s soup? I went out today and it was too cold for words.
