Shoplifting

A woman in Tennessee has been banned at all Walmarts for shoplifting. She used the self checkout to steal. I understand that the price of eggs and beef is continually rising, but to shoplift in a store that uses trust to make purchases is wrong. Of course, it is also a way for stores to save money on empoyees. I use self checkout only if necessary. I always have issues and have to ask for help. It’s a smart move for the groceries as they can have double the checkouts without an employee for each cash register. When I was young, if a young child did shoplifting, they were punished and labeled as a bad child. I don’t think one mistake is that punishable. Once being referred to as a bad seed, it not only stays with the child but then they believe they are bad and can do other wrong things. How children are treated eventually leads to whom they become as adults. Although, the adults now seem to feel that shoplifting is acceptable. Many stores in California have closed due to the excessive shoplifting. It is occurring in other states but it is not as publicized.  We all grew up with rules and morals. What I don’t understand is what changed to make shoplifting and other actions acceptable, do you?
